Dr. Ammar Osama Sharkatli

Dr. Ammar Sharkatli is an attorney and legal scholar with over twenty years of experience in legal practice, teaching, and research between Syria and France. He specializes in commercial and corporate law, intellectual property, and comparative legal systems. In addition to his consulting work, he serves as a Professor at the Faculty of Law at Damascus University, has taught at several prestigious French universities, and is a founding partner of Tamkeen Law Firm.

Dr. Ammar Sharkatli graduated in 2003 from the Faculty of Law at Damascus University, where he later pursued his postgraduate studies in private and commercial law.

He began his academic career as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Law, Damascus University, before moving to France to continue his higher education. He earned a Master’s degree in Commercial Law, followed by a Ph.D. in Corporate Law from the University of Lille, France.

Between 2017 and 2019, he served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Lille, where he taught Commercial and Corporate Law in both French and English, and supervised undergraduate and graduate research.

In 2019, he was appointed as a Fellow Professor at EDHEC Business School in France.

Since 2019, Dr. Sharkatli has been a Lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Economics at Damascus University, specializing in Commercial Law. He also serves as a legal advisor to the Central Bank of Syria and the Rural Damascus Chamber of Commerce.
